The Woodstock Brit Show
An hour of themed music, unexpected connections and distinctly British humour with Gary Warren.
The Woodstock Brit Show is a themed music programme created and presented by Gary Warren from Woodstock, New York.
Every edition starts with an idea and follows it wherever the music takes it. Themes can range from the ingenious to the downright odd, explored through British, American and international music across decades and genres.
This isn't a conventional playlist show. Gary digs beyond the obvious choices, bringing together familiar favourites, deep cuts, B-sides, overlooked gems and unexpected discoveries, with stories, observations and a dry British sense of humour along the way.
Gary Warren is a former British actor, author and broadcaster whose career began in the UK. Best known for playing Peter in the classic film The Railway Children, he went on to work extensively in television and radio before becoming an author and broadcaster. His experience as an actor and narrator gives the programme a strong, distinctive voice and a presentation style that is warm, conversational and unmistakably British!
Over one hundred and twenty completed themed programmes are already available, giving stations a substantial library of ready-to-air programming.
One show, two hours if you want it
The programmes are designed so that two complementary themed editions can be seamlessly combined into a two-hour show, creating a longer, continuous programme without the joins feeling like joins.
This format is already being used by Heritage Chart Radio in the UK, which broadcasts the Woodstock Brit Show as a two-hour programme.
Individual editions can also be scheduled weekly, rotated through a station's schedule or used as occasional themed specials.
Why it works for radio
The Woodstock Brit Show offers something increasingly rare: personality-led music radio that doesn't sound like everybody else's playlist.
It can add an unusual voice to a music schedule, provide specialist programming without being confined to one genre, and introduce listeners to records they may never have encountered alongside songs they already know and love.
The programme is currently airing on stations in both the United States and UK, including KPISS in Brooklyn, 242 Radio, Shout Radio and Heritage Chart Radio, with further stations now joining the lineup.
Ready to air
Each programme is supplied as a completed fifty-nine-minute broadcast-ready file, with clean, professionally produced audio. Programmes are delivered conveniently via Dropbox, with stations able to schedule them entirely at their own discretion.
The show is available free to community and college stations, with licensing arrangements available for commercial broadcasters.
Gary also promotes stations carrying the programme through his own social media and promotional channels.
The Woodstock Brit Show isn't a live feed. It's a finished programme that arrives at your station ready to play.
